 Remember the Oklahoma City Bombing 

The September 11 remembrance of the World Trade Center bombing brings to mind the Oklahoma City bombing.  A statue of Jesus stands directly across the street from the building bombed in Oklahoma City.  Jesus has His back to the bombed building.  I have seen the statue in person and visited the memorial site across the street.  It is an experience to be treasured.  Although the scale of destruction for the two buildings -- the World Trade Center and the Federal Office Building in Oklahoma City -- was completely different, the idea that Jesus could not look while the Oklahoma City bombing was going on, is ever present in my mind.

The Oklahoma City bombing memorial site includes 168 chairs for each of the victims who died, adults and children.  While I was by the Statue looking at the site, I heard in my mind “Each of the victims has returned home to Heaven.”  Jesus was so pleased.

Please pray that all of the victims’ families, friends and relations may join them as they are called home to His Heaven.  God bless you.
